SMALL IDEAS, REAL DIMENSIONS

Printing at the correct scale

1. Export the PDF, not a screenshot

Download PDF creates vector pages in the selected paper size. Printing the website includes the interface and does not guarantee template dimensions.

2. Choose 100% or Actual size

Open the file in a PDF reader. Select matching paper and turn off Fit and automatic reduction. The file is already tiled: do not apply another Poster layout.

3. Check the reference

The footer line should measure 50 mm between its vertical marks. If it does not, correct your print settings before using the design. A home printer is not a certified measuring instrument.

4. Check your printer with two squares

Download 100 and 50 mm squares on the selected paper format. Measure both axes before cutting: no automatic correction.

5. Assemble the sheets

Follow row and column labels in the footer and the preview map. Trim the white paper along the dashed frame, overlap repeated areas and align matching crosses on adjacent sheets. Do not fold the design to force alignment.

6. Keep the bridges

For a stencil, remove the areas enclosed by the outlines or filled in black, not the gaps between pieces. Do not cut the bridges connecting centres. Test the material: thin bridges can tear.

7. Limits of this version

One original uppercase alphabet, ten shapes, up to 40 drawn characters, three lines, 24 copies and 36 sheets. Mirror and rotation also affect exported files. No photo or font uploads. Curves are sampled polygons, not certified precision geometry.

Reprint selected sheets

Enter 1, 3-5 in the sheet field to export only those pages. Original order is preserved, duplicates are removed and numbering still refers to the whole project. Do not confuse position in the reduced PDF with the sheet number. The coloured preview grid is not printed.

Independent sheets and filling the page

Alphabet prepares one symbol per page without resizing it: do not apply Poster or Fit to page. The shape planner searches regular grids within 24 copies and six columns; dimensions and gaps stay unchanged. Stronger on-screen outlines do not change PDF line thickness.

Separate assembly guide

A separate sheet with a reduced map, page numbers and assembly order. It is not an actual-size cutting pattern and is not added to the design PDF.

Complete words or numbers on signs

For a large word across multiple sheets, use Letters. For one separate letter per page, use Alphabet. Here a whole word or number stays on a single page.
